Romania has intercepted and destroyed a second unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) within two days that violated the country's airspace near the Danube Delta, along the border with Ukraine.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the incident was confirmed by Romanian officials, who noted that the drone was neutralized at approximately 08:30 local time (09:30 Baku time), roughly 10 kilometers west of the city of Sfântu Gheorghe.

Romanian authorities reported that the UAV was downed using F-16 fighter jets. While the specific origin of the drone has not been officially confirmed, investigations are ongoing to determine its source. This event follows a similar incident reported just yesterday, where Romanian forces intercepted another unauthorized drone entering the nation's airspace.

These repeated incursions highlight the growing security challenges facing NATO member states bordering the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The Danube Delta region, a strategic area for both Romania and Ukraine, has become a focal point for regional security concerns as stray munitions and surveillance drones frequently cross international borders during military operations.
