Belgian national team striker Romelu Lukaku has set a unique record in the history of FIFA World Cup tournaments.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the 33-year-old forward achieved this milestone during the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 match against the United States, which Belgium won 4-1.

Entering the pitch in the 67th minute, the forward scored the final goal of the match in the 90+3rd minute.

Lukaku has become the first player in history to score in four different World Cup matches after coming on as a substitute. He achieved this feat three times in the current tournament and once during the 2014 World Cup.

The FIFA World Cup is a prestigious international football competition held every four years, bringing together the best national teams from across the globe to compete for the world title. The 2026 edition of the tournament, which is currently underway, is scheduled to conclude on July 19.
