Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have held a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and technical cooperation.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the IRNA agency, reports that during the conversation held on Sunday, the parties exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest. The discussions focused on the prospects for cooperation between the agency and Tehran, as well as a review of the current status of Iran's nuclear program.

The meeting comes at a significant time for international diplomacy regarding Iran's nuclear commitments. The IAEA serves as the world's nuclear watchdog, tasked with verifying that nuclear materials and activities remain peaceful. Maintaining a direct dialogue between the IAEA leadership and Iranian officials is considered a critical component in addressing outstanding safeguards issues and ensuring transparency within the framework of international non-proliferation agreements.
