One person has died and another was injured following a soil collapse during excavation work in the Gobustan settlement of Baku's Garadagh district. The incident occurred when a layer of earth gave way, trapping two workers beneath the debris during a digging operation.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescue teams from the Special Risky Rescue and State Fire Protection services were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon assessing the situation, rescuers managed to pull one man from the soil alive. Unfortunately, the body of a second man was recovered and handed over to the relevant authorities. An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently being conducted by the appropriate state agencies.
