President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree amending the order dated May 29, 2021, titled "On the regulation of certain issues related to the study, research, exploration, development, and exploitation of the Qashqachay, Elbeydash, and Aghduzdagh ore deposits."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the new decree modifies the scope of the original document. Under the updated regulations, the 2021 decree will now apply exclusively to the Elbeydash ore deposit, effectively removing the Qashqachay and Aghduzdagh deposits from the specific regulatory framework established by that order.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with resolving all issues arising from this new decree, ensuring the legal and administrative processes for the remaining site are properly managed. This adjustment reflects the ongoing optimization of Azerbaijan's mining sector management, which aims to streamline the development of the country's mineral resources. The mining industry remains a strategic pillar of the Azerbaijani economy, with the government actively working to attract investment and implement modern technological standards for resource extraction and environmental protection.
