Political, economic, and social stability is the current reality of Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated this during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group held in Baku.
The head of state noted that successful development is based on various criteria:
"Azerbaijan has been an independent country for only 35 years, and the first two years of independence were marked by occupation, war, and humanitarian disasters. Subsequently, the country's stable development began to be ensured, which is the foundation of every country's success. Because when stability is disrupted, we cannot talk about development. Therefore, political, economic, and social stability is Azerbaijan's reality today."
The President noted that this is also a manifestation of regional development: "On the regional and global stage, Azerbaijan has become an important participant in many aspects due to its strong relations."
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group's Annual Meetings serve as a premier platform for discussing global economic challenges, fostering cooperation among member countries, and exploring investment opportunities. Hosting such a high-level international event in Baku underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a reliable partner in international economic and political arenas, as well as its commitment to sustainable development and regional stability.
