President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter states:

“Dear Mr. President,

On the occasion of the significant anniversary - the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence - I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you and, through you, to the friendly people of Ukraine, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.

The current level of Azerbaijan-Ukraine friendly relations, which possess rich traditions, is gratifying. Our political dialogue, high-level mutual visits, and cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres are among the important aspects of our strategic partnership. I would like to specifically highlight our long-standing and effective cooperation in the energy sector.

I highly value the results of your working visit to Azerbaijan this April and our meeting. Undoubtedly, our regular meetings and contacts, as well as our mutual support regarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our countries, are key factors strengthening our interstate relations.

The existence of an active dialogue at the highest level creates a favorable basis for deepening our cooperation in various fields, particularly in trade, economy, humanitarian affairs, agriculture, investment, and others. We will continue to provide humanitarian support to the friendly people of Ukraine.

I believe that we will continue to make joint efforts to strengthen Azerbaijan-Ukraine friendly relations for the benefit of our peoples.

On this festive day, I wish you robust health and happiness, and peace, tranquility, and prosperity to the friendly people of Ukraine.”

Azerbaijan and Ukraine have maintained strong diplomatic ties since the establishment of bilateral relations in 1992. The relationship is characterized by mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, with both nations frequently collaborating on regional security and energy infrastructure projects. The strategic partnership continues to evolve, with Azerbaijan providing significant humanitarian aid to Ukraine in recent years.
