Prezident: Bu gün Azərbaycan özünü bütün əsas enerji mənbələri ilə tam təmin edir

Azerbaijan is currently fully self-sufficient in all major energy sources and is actively exporting them to global markets, President Ilham Aliyev said.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state made these remarks during a meeting dedicated to the unified action plan titled "Azerbaijan's New Digital Architecture." The President emphasized that the country's energy independence serves as a cornerstone for its economic stability and international influence.

“Taking into account that our plans for the creation of renewable energy types are evident—this has been discussed many times—our generation capacity will increase even further in the future based on signed contracts,” President Ilham Aliyev added. He noted that the transition toward green energy is a strategic priority that complements Azerbaijan's existing oil and gas successes.

Azerbaijan has evolved from a traditional oil producer into a major natural gas supplier to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor. In recent years, the country has shifted its focus toward the "Green Energy" agenda, aiming to utilize its vast wind and solar potential, particularly in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangazur, as well as the Caspian Sea. These initiatives are part of a broader national strategy to diversify the economy and reduce carbon emissions by 2030.
