Azerbaijani president sends condolences to Pakistani PM

President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolence to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, following a deadly terrorist attack in the country's southwestern region, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.

In his letter, the Azerbaijani leader expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and injuries resulting from the attack on a passenger train. "We are extremely outraged by this horrific event, strongly condemn all manifestations of terrorism, and consider it inevitable to fight terrorism in the most severe manner," President Ilham Aliyev said. On behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan, the President extended his deepest condolences to Prime Minister Sharif, the families of the victims, and the brotherly people of Pakistan, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan share deep-rooted historical, cultural, and strategic relations, characterized by mutual support on key international platforms. The two nations consistently back each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, while actively cooperating in security, defense, and counter-terrorism initiatives to promote regional stability.
