Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic have established themselves as highly reliable partners in the energy sector over many years, President Ilham Aliyev said during a joint press statement with the Czech leadership.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state emphasized the strategic nature of the bilateral relations, noting that Azerbaijani oil exports play a significant role in the energy balance of the Czech Republic.
The cooperation between the two nations extends beyond traditional fossil fuels, as both Baku and Prague explore further opportunities in the natural gas and green energy sectors. Azerbaijan has increasingly positioned itself as a key guarantor of European energy security, particularly through the Southern Gas Corridor and expanding renewable energy initiatives in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangazur. This partnership reflects a broader trend of deepening economic ties between Azerbaijan and European Union member states, focusing on long-term sustainability and energy diversification.
