President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva visited the city of Khojavand and the village of Khojavand today to inspect the progress of large-scale restoration and construction projects.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Presidential Press Service released information regarding the visit. During the trip, the head of state and his family members reviewed the implementation of infrastructure projects and the development of new residential facilities designed to support the return of former internally displaced persons.
Following the inspection of the ongoing works, President Ilham Aliyev, the First Lady, and Arzu Aliyeva met with residents of the city of Khojavand and the village of Khojavand. The meeting highlighted the government's commitment to the "Great Return" program, which aims to revitalize the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and ensure the sustainable settlement of citizens in their ancestral lands.
The Khojavand district, located in the Garabagh region, is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment as part of Azerbaijan's national strategy to rebuild areas liberated from occupation. These efforts include the restoration of historical monuments, the construction of modern schools and hospitals, and the establishment of agricultural and industrial zones to bolster the regional economy.
