Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the message reads:
"Your Excellency,
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and your people.
Greece highly values the strong and dynamic partnership with Azerbaijan, which is based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation. While the energy sector remains a cornerstone of our bilateral relations, I am pleased to see our cooperation consistently expanding into new areas of common interest.
We remain committed to further deepening our ties, guided by international law and the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. I wish the people of Azerbaijan lasting peace, prosperity, and progress.

Azerbaijan and Greece maintain diplomatic relations that have been significantly strengthened by cooperation in the energy sector, particularly through the Southern Gas Corridor, which facilitates the transport of Azerbaijani natural gas to European markets, including Greece. Both nations continue to engage in dialogue to enhance political, economic, and cultural ties within the framework of international law.
