Azerbaijan's newly appointed Ambassador to Japan, Farid Talibov, has officially presented his credentials to Emperor Naruhito during a formal ceremony held in Tokyo. The event marks the formal commencement of the diplomat's tenure in the Japanese capital.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the diplomat announced the news via his official account on the X social media platform. "Today, fulfilling the important mission entrusted to me by President Ilham Aliyev, I presented my credentials as the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Japan to His Majesty the Emperor," Talibov wrote.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Japan were established in September 1992. Since then, the two countries have maintained a high level of cooperation, particularly in the energy sector and humanitarian fields. Japan has been a key partner in several large-scale infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan, and both nations continue to explore new avenues for economic partnership and cultural exchange. The appointment of the new ambassador is expected to further enhance the strategic dialogue between Baku and Tokyo.
