Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Israel's ongoing attacks on Lebanon make the planned negotiations with the US leadership in Islamabad meaningless.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state shared these remarks on the X platform. The President emphasized that the escalation in regional tensions is directly impacting the potential for diplomatic engagement with Western powers.
Masoud Pezeshkian noted that Iran will not hesitate to take action if necessary. "Continuing these attacks will make negotiations pointless; our finger will remain on the trigger, and Iran will never leave its Lebanese brothers and sisters alone," the Iranian President emphasized.
The statement comes amid heightened military activity in the Middle East, which has complicated international efforts to mediate long-standing disputes. The proposed talks in Islamabad were expected to address regional security and nuclear concerns, but the current humanitarian and military crisis in Lebanon has shifted Tehran's diplomatic priorities. Historically, Iran has maintained a policy of strategic support for its regional allies, often conditioning its participation in international dialogue on the cessation of hostilities against its partners.
