Russia expects all parties involved in the situation surrounding Iran to exercise restraint and seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing tensions.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made these remarks during a press briefing with journalists. Peskov emphasized that Moscow is maintaining its efforts to facilitate a de-escalation of the current regional friction.
"Of course, in this case, we expect all interested parties to behave with restraint and focus solely on peaceful negotiations to resolve the issues that have become urgently apparent," Peskov stated.
The Kremlin's call for diplomacy comes amid a complex geopolitical landscape in the Middle East, where Russia has traditionally maintained significant diplomatic interests and security ties. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia frequently positions itself as a mediator in regional conflicts, advocating for the preservation of international agreements and the prevention of direct military confrontation. This statement aligns with Baku's broader regional policy of promoting stability and security across the Caspian and Middle Eastern corridors.
