Russia has not yet received any information from Washington regarding the content of the recent telephone conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov during a press briefing.
Responding to a question about whether the US side had briefed Moscow on the details of these communications, the Kremlin spokesperson confirmed that no such information has been provided to date. Peskov noted that if the discussions involved new initiatives or proposals relevant to Russia, the US representatives would likely communicate them to Moscow promptly.
"If there is any substantial development there that requires being passed on to us, the American negotiators will do so very quickly," Peskov emphasized.
The reports follow claims by Axios journalist Barak Ravid, who, citing sources, wrote that President Zelensky held a telephone conversation on Monday with US President Donald Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Regarding the potential visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Russia, Peskov stated that no specific dates have been agreed upon, though he added, "We would be happy to see them in Russia at any time."
The involvement of special envoys in diplomatic channels highlights the ongoing international efforts to navigate the complex geopolitical landscape surrounding the conflict in Ukraine. As the US administration under President Donald Trump seeks to engage with key stakeholders, the role of designated representatives remains a focal point for diplomatic observers monitoring potential shifts in negotiation strategies.
