Security measures will be significantly tightened in Geneva during the upcoming negotiations regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the situation in Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing RIA Novosti and local law enforcement, that Swiss police are preparing for high-level diplomatic engagements scheduled for mid-February.

Official statements from the city police indicate that security forces are constantly adapting to current needs. "It is clear that in view of these discussions, we will adapt the police presence accordingly," the police department noted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a secure environment for the international delegations.

The third round of peace negotiations concerning the situation in Ukraine is scheduled to take place in Geneva on February 17-18. The meetings will involve delegations from US President Donald Trump's administration, Russia, and Ukraine. While Switzerland serves as the host venue, the Swiss side will not officially participate in the talks. The Russian delegation is expected to be led by Vladimir Medinski.

Geneva has a long-standing history as a neutral hub for international diplomacy and conflict resolution. The city frequently hosts high-stakes summits due to its specialized infrastructure and the presence of numerous international organizations. These upcoming talks are viewed as a critical step in addressing regional stability, with the involvement of US President Donald Trump's administration signaling a renewed focus on diplomatic solutions to the ongoing crisis.
