Nikol Paşinyan: Rusiya ilə əlaqələr Ermənistan üçün prioritetdir

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has declared that his country is actively developing its relations with Russia and continues to prioritize these ties.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Interfax news agency, Pashinyan described the current state of Armenia-Russia relations as being in a phase of transformation, which he characterized as a positive development.

"We are significantly developing and prioritizing our relations with Russia. Our relationship is in a transformation stage, and I view this phase positively," the Prime Minister stated.

Pashinyan also addressed Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), emphasizing that the country will remain a member of the political and economic bloc in the near future. He noted that should a necessity arise in the future to choose between the EAEU and the European Union, such a decision would be determined through a national referendum. The Prime Minister underscored that Armenia's foreign policy course is shaped by the country's national interests, and strategic decisions will be made with consideration for the will of its citizens.

The Eurasian Economic Union is an international organization for regional economic integration, established in 2015, which includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Armenia's strategic positioning within both regional and international frameworks remains a significant aspect of its foreign policy, particularly as it navigates complex geopolitical dynamics in the South Caucasus region.
