The Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) has convened to review the draft law on the execution of the 2025 state budget.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the legislative body is currently evaluating the fiscal performance report, which was formally submitted to the parliament on June 8.

According to the official data, the state budget revenues for the previous year reached 39.1846 billion manats, marking a 5.4% increase compared to the previous year and exceeding forecasts by 2.2%. Meanwhile, budget expenditures totaled 38.6046 billion manats, representing a 2.4% annual increase, though this figure was 6.8% lower than the initial projections.

The fiscal year concluded with a budget surplus of 580 million manats, equivalent to 0.45% of the GDP. This surplus was primarily driven by higher-than-expected budget revenues and the fact that budgetary organizations executed their expenditures 2.803 billion manats below the forecasted levels.

The Milli Majlis plays a central role in Azerbaijan's governance, serving as the primary legislative body responsible for approving the national budget and overseeing the government's fiscal policies. The annual budget execution review is a critical process that ensures transparency and accountability in the management of state funds, reflecting the country's broader economic priorities and development strategies.
