Pakistani Prime Minister to visit Russia

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to pay an official visit to Russia in the near future. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the announcement was made by the country's Ambassador to Moscow, Faisal Niyaz Tirmizi.

In an interview with the TASS news agency, the diplomat noted that the visit is expected to take place in June or July. According to the Ambassador, the Prime Minister is looking forward to the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and holds him in high regard. It was also emphasized that Moscow has served as a key development partner for Pakistan for many years.

The diplomatic ties between Islamabad and Moscow have intensified recently, focusing on regional security, energy, and economic cooperation. Earlier, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated his Russian counterpart on the 81st anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. In his message, the head of state reaffirmed Islamabad's determination to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with Russia, reflecting a shared interest in enhancing strategic relations and regional stability.
