Between June 16 and June 21, a total of 29 anti-tank mines, 84 anti-personnel mines, and 514 pieces of unexploded ordnance (UXO) were discovered and neutralized in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this update was provided in the weekly report by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) regarding ongoing humanitarian demining operations.

The report confirms that 1,710.16 hectares of land have been successfully cleared of mines during this period.

Demining operations are being conducted by ANAMA, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Border Service, and four private companies. These efforts are focused on the territories of Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Shusha, Khojavand, Lachin, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Qubadli, and Zangilan, as well as the liberated villages of Baganis Ayrim, Ashaghi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili in the Gazakh district.

The extensive contamination of liberated lands with mines and unexploded ordnance remains a significant obstacle to the large-scale reconstruction and resettlement projects currently underway in the region. Since the end of the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, the Azerbaijani government has prioritized demining as a critical step toward ensuring the safety of returning residents and facilitating the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their ancestral homes.
