The Kremlin has expressed its support for the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding Iran's nuclear dossier, hoping the talks will yield positive results and lead to a reduction in regional tensions.

"We welcome the negotiations that have started in Oman and wish for these talks to be productive and provide a path toward the de-escalation of tensions in the region," stated Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Operative Information Center-OMM.

The high-level discussions are currently taking place in Oman, with the Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the American delegation headed by Steven Witkoff, the special envoy of US President Donald Trump. The meeting marks a significant diplomatic effort to address the long-standing complexities surrounding Tehran's nuclear program and the broader security architecture of the Middle East.

Oman has frequently served as a strategic mediator between Western powers and Iran, facilitating back-channel diplomacy and formal negotiations in the capital, Muscat. These talks come at a critical juncture for international diplomacy, as global powers seek to balance non-proliferation goals with regional stability. The involvement of high-ranking officials from both the Trump administration and the Iranian government underscores the urgency of reaching a sustainable framework for the nuclear issue.
