The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan has officially approved the new "Rules for the Installation of Heating Systems." According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov signed the decree to formalize these updated standards.
The new regulations establish comprehensive requirements for the installation of boiler facilities to ensure public safety and operational efficiency. Key mandates include:
- Boiler installations must strictly adhere to construction project documentation and urban planning norms.
- Facilities must comply with fire and explosion safety requirements, as well as established sanitary standards.
- Equipment and materials used must meet the technical specifications provided by the manufacturer and the project design.
- Safety distances for electrical, gas, heating, ventilation, water supply, and sewage systems must be maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy, and the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture.
- Comprehensive safety measures and leak testing must be conducted prior to the commissioning of any boiler system.
Furthermore, the regulations specify strict requirements for water supply and sewage systems within these facilities. Pipes, valves, and components must be installed with hermetic seals, and pipe diameters and layouts must align with hydraulic performance requirements. Additionally, all piping passing through structures must be insulated with non-combustible materials and maintained at safe distances from electrical cabling, as mandated by the "Rules for the Installation of Electrical Equipment."
These regulations are part of a broader effort by the Azerbaijani government to modernize infrastructure standards and improve the safety of residential and commercial heating systems across the country. By standardizing installation procedures, the Ministry of Energy aims to reduce the risk of accidents, improve energy efficiency, and ensure that all new heating installations meet modern safety benchmarks.
