The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially refuted recent reports alleging that the country is providing financial support to Iran and canceling residency permits for foreign workers, labeling such claims as fabricated.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, addressed these allegations on the social media platform X.
"Certain platforms are disseminating false information regarding the country, while the state continues to focus its efforts on responding to regional developments and preparing for the post-conflict period," Gargash stated.
Gargash emphasized that the UAE's strategic approach is to respond to such claims through concrete actions and tangible achievements rather than engaging with misinformation. He specifically addressed the rumors concerning the cancellation of residency permits for foreign workers, categorically dismissing them as "fake news" and part of "desperate media campaigns" aimed at destabilizing the regional narrative.
The UAE has historically maintained a complex diplomatic balance in the Middle East, often acting as a mediator in regional disputes. While the country seeks to de-escalate tensions and promote economic stability, it frequently faces disinformation campaigns designed to misrepresent its foreign policy objectives and internal administrative decisions.
