Military operations conducted by the United States against targets in Iran have resulted in confirmed casualties, according to local reports.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Akbar Salehi, Deputy Governor of Iran's Isfahan province, provided details to local media regarding the impact of overnight strikes carried out by US forces. According to Salehi, a strike in the Nain district resulted in one fatality and left seven others with varying degrees of injuries. Additionally, reports from the Khuzestan province indicate that an attack in the city of Mahshahr claimed the life of one security officer and left four others wounded.

In an official statement, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) noted that the operations were aimed at degrading Iran's capabilities to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Following the initial strikes, reports emerged of loud explosions heard in the cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Jask, as well as on Qeshm Island.

In response to the US actions, Iranian officials announced the commencement of retaliatory military operations. Tehran stated that it has launched large-scale missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strikes against what it described as "enemy bases" in the region. Tensions between the United States and Iran remain significantly elevated as both sides continue to exchange fire.

The Strait of Hormuz, where these operations are focused, is a critical maritime chokepoint through which a significant portion of the world's oil supply passes. Ensuring the security of this waterway has long been a primary objective of international naval coalitions, often leading to friction between Western powers and regional actors.
