Nikol Paşinyan: Sülh siyasəti davam etdikcə müharibə olmayacaq

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that as long as the country consistently pursues a peace-oriented policy, there will be no risk of war.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Pashinyan made these remarks during a press briefing. He was addressing pre-election claims suggesting that a "catastrophic war" could erupt in September if the Civil Contract Party failed to secure a constitutional majority in parliament.

"As long as we consistently continue our peaceful policy and serve it with all possible means, there will be no war; there will be peace," the Prime Minister emphasized.

It is worth noting that Armenia has been navigating a complex post-conflict period following the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, which resulted in the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories from occupation. The normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan remains a critical factor for regional stability in the South Caucasus, with ongoing negotiations aimed at finalizing a comprehensive peace treaty.

Regarding the recent legislative process, preliminary results from the parliamentary elections held on June 7 indicate that three political forces are expected to enter the parliament. The Civil Contract Party secured a majority with 727,827 votes (49.825%), granting it the mandate to form the government. The "Strong Armenia" bloc received 340,088 votes (23.281%), while the "Armenia" bloc garnered 145,113 votes (9.934%). The Prosperous Armenia Party narrowly missed the 4% threshold, securing 3.996% of the vote. Recounts are currently underway at several polling stations, with final results expected to be announced on June 14.
