Several explosions occurred on Iran's Sirri and Lavan islands, affecting key industrial areas in the Persian Gulf region.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Iranian "Mehr" news agency provided the initial information regarding the incidents, citing local sources. While the scale of the blasts on Sirri Island remains unclear, additional reports from the "Tasnim" news agency confirmed that multiple explosions also rocked an oil refinery located on Lavan Island. Official details regarding the cause of the incidents or potential casualties have not yet been disclosed by Iranian authorities.

The Lavan and Sirri islands are critical hubs for Iran's energy sector, housing significant oil production facilities, refineries, and export terminals. Lavan Island, in particular, is home to the Lavan Oil Refining Company, which processes crude oil and gas condensate into various petroleum products. Sirri Island serves as a major operational base for the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), facilitating the extraction and transport of oil from several offshore fields.

These incidents come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing concerns regarding the security of energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf. Historically, such facilities have been subject to technical failures, though they remain sensitive strategic assets for the Iranian economy. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the source of the blasts to determine if they were the result of industrial accidents or external factors.
