The Intelligent Transport Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued an official appeal to motorists regarding expected freezing weather conditions.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued an official appeal to drivers regarding expected weather conditions in the capital. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, weather forecasts indicate that freezing temperatures are expected in Baku during the overnight hours, significantly increasing the risk of icing and slippery conditions on several major roads and highways.

The Center has urged drivers to strictly adhere to speed limits and exercise heightened caution while operating vehicles. It was specifically emphasized that in the event of a technical malfunction, vehicles should be immediately moved to the roadside to prevent creating hazardous situations for other road users. The MIA noted that speed limits on certain streets and avenues in the capital may be temporarily reduced to prevent potential traffic accidents caused by the adverse weather.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center of the MIA stated that road users will be continuously updated on the current situation, with real-time warnings provided as conditions evolve. In Azerbaijan, such preventative measures are standard procedure during the winter months to ensure public safety and maintain the flow of traffic. Baku's unique coastal geography often leads to rapid temperature shifts, making the management of road infrastructure a priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and municipal services during the winter season.
