The Russian Ministry of Defense has claimed that its forces have taken control of another settlement in the Kharkiv region. According to reports from the Operative Information Center-OMM, units from the 69th Motorized Rifle Division of the 6th Army, part of the "North" group of forces, secured the village of Petro-Ivanovka in the northwestern part of the Kharkiv region following intense combat operations.

The ministry stated that Ukrainian forces attempted to defend the settlement using various resources, including foreign personnel. Russian officials alleged that two groups of Spanish-speaking fighters in this sector refused to carry out combat orders at different times during the engagement.

The ministry further reported that the capture of Petro-Ivanovka has expanded the territory under Russian control in the Kharkiv region. It is also claimed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been forced to redeploy reserve units from other sectors, including the surrounding areas of the Kupyansk district, in an effort to stabilize the front line. These claims by the Russian Ministry of Defense have not been independently verified.

The Kupyansk district has been a focal point of military activity since the onset of the conflict. The region holds strategic importance due to its logistical connections and proximity to the front lines, making it a recurring site of heavy fighting as both sides seek to consolidate positions and disrupt supply lines in eastern Ukraine.
