Starting this month, a large-scale cultural tour program covering Baku and various regions will be implemented under the initiative and organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, featuring the participation of the country's leading artistic ensembles.
The Ministry of Culture told Operative Information Center-OMM that the project is being realized as the first systematic cultural tour initiative that unites the capital and the regions within a single program, covering a wide geography across Azerbaijan.
The primary objective of the initiative is to establish a unified cultural space across Azerbaijan, further revitalize cultural life in the regions, and increase the accessibility of high-level art for all citizens. The project also serves to strengthen cultural ties between the capital and the regions, provide a broader presentation of national art in the provinces, and actively involve youth in cultural life.
As part of the tour program, a total of approximately 30 concerts and artistic programs are planned to be presented in various cities and districts of Azerbaijan. The project is expected to involve about 1,200 artists and creative staff members, demonstrating the initiative's extensive reach across the country's cultural landscape and its vast geographical coverage.
Under the program, artistic ensembles from the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall named after Muslim Magomayev, the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the Heydar Aliyev Palace, the International Mugham Center, the Azerbaijan State Song Theater named after Rashid Behbudov, and the Ganja State Philharmonic Hall named after Fikret Amirov will perform concert programs in various regions of Azerbaijan.
Audiences will be presented with selected examples of symphonic and chamber music, mugham, folk instrument music, choral, and dance arts. This program holds particular significance in terms of preserving classical musical heritage, promoting national musical traditions, and bringing modern performance culture to a wide audience.
The tour visits are planned to cover Baku, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Aghdam, Lachin, Ganja, Mingachevir, Lankaran, Sumgait, Quba, Khachmaz, Sheki, Gabala, Zagatala, Balakan, Sabirabad, Shamakhi, and other cities and districts.
The project will also contribute to expanding cooperation with cultural institutions and creative collectives operating in the regions, developing mutual experience exchange, and forming new creative platforms. Simultaneously, the program will create opportunities for the effective organization of leisure time for spectators, increase the cultural attractiveness of the regions, and provide an additional stimulus for the development of domestic cultural tourism in Azerbaijan.
This initiative is being implemented in accordance with the goals of the "Azerbaijan Culture – 2040" Concept, specifically focusing on one of its priority directions: increasing the accessibility of culture in the regions and forming a unified cultural ecosystem across Azerbaijan. The 2040 Concept serves as a strategic roadmap for the long-term development of the nation's creative industries and the preservation of its rich heritage in the modern era.
