In July, a total of 8,012.7 hectares of land in Azerbaijan's liberated territories were cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance.

According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", this data was released in the weekly report by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) regarding ongoing humanitarian demining operations in the region.

During this period, 174 anti-tank mines, 614 anti-personnel mines, and 2,106 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO) were discovered and neutralized.

Demining operations are being conducted by ANAMA, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, five local organizations, and one NGO. These efforts cover the territories of Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Shusha, Khojavand, Lachin, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Qubadli, and Zangilan, as well as the liberated villages of Baghanis Ayrim, Ashaghi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili in the Gazakh district.

The large-scale demining process is a critical component of Azerbaijan's post-conflict reconstruction strategy. Since the end of the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, the presence of landmines has remained the primary obstacle to the safe return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their ancestral lands and the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions.
