Mark Rutte: NATO 32 ölkənin potensialını birləşdirir

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte addressed the Defense Industry Forum held within the framework of the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government in Ankara. He highlighted the necessity of integrating the capabilities of all 32 member states to bolster collective security.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Rutte likened the alliance's operations to a team sport, noting that success depends on the collective efforts of all allies rather than individual actions. "No team can win with just one player. Defense and deterrence require a complete team effort," Rutte stated. He underscored that while political leaders set the strategic direction and armed forces execute operations, the defense industry serves as a fundamental pillar through innovation and production capacity.

The NATO Secretary General reported a significant increase in defense spending, with European allies and Canada allocating 20 percent more funds compared to previous years, amounting to approximately $139 billion in additional investment. Projections indicate this figure could rise to $258 billion by 2026. Rutte also outlined ambitious production goals, aiming for an annual output of 4 million rounds of ammunition by 2027. Addressing security challenges posed by Russia, China, and North Korea, Rutte called for a transformation in the transatlantic defense industry to ensure the alliance remains resilient in an increasingly complex global security environment.
