Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, has initiated a comprehensive cleanup campaign in the Dubandi residential area. The project focuses on restoring the ecological balance of the Caspian Sea coastline.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the campaign was organized by the IDEA Public Union with the support of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The initiative specifically targets the removal of oil waste and oil-contaminated debris that has accumulated along the shoreline, a critical step in preserving the marine environment.

To ensure the safety and health of all participants, organizers provided detailed training prior to the event. This included instructions on the safe handling of oil waste, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and emergency response protocols. Following the collection process, the gathered waste was transported for proper neutralization and disposal in accordance with environmental regulations.

The IDEA Public Union, established in 2011, frequently spearheads environmental protection efforts in Azerbaijan. These initiatives are part of a broader national strategy to promote sustainable development, raise public awareness regarding environmental stewardship, and mitigate the impact of industrial activities on the Caspian ecosystem.
