Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics visited the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on April 23 as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the guest was briefed on the Heydar Aliyev Center, which is considered one of the world's most unique architectural masterpieces. It was noted that the center's activities are dedicated to the deep study and research of the statehood philosophy, the ideology of Azerbaijanism, and the legacy of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. In the Heydar Aliyev Museum, various aspects of the National Leader's activity during both the Soviet period and the years of independence are presented virtually.

President Edgars Rinkevics viewed the official cars used by the National Leader during his leadership of Azerbaijan from 1969 to 2003. The exhibits, photographs, and multimedia hall reflecting different periods of the National Leader's activity concept generated great interest. While familiarizing himself with the "Pearls of Azerbaijan" exhibition, the Latvian President was informed that unique exhibits related to the country's inexhaustible natural resources, centuries-old history, and cultural heritage are displayed here. The exhibition features rare examples of ancient crafts, including the Azerbaijani carpet-weaving school, and original presentations of ancient musical instruments. After viewing the "Classic Car Exhibition," President Edgars Rinkevics signed the center's guest book.

The Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, serves as a major cultural hub in the capital and is a symbol of modern Azerbaijan. Such visits by foreign heads of state highlight the center's role in promoting Azerbaijan's history and cultural diplomacy on the international stage. The visit of the Latvian President to Baku further strengthens the bilateral relations and cultural exchange between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Latvia.
