Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has confirmed reports regarding a visit by the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to Moscow. Speaking to journalists, Peskov stated that contacts between Russian and US intelligence services have indeed taken place, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.

The Kremlin spokesperson characterized these communications as a positive step and noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the nature of the discussions. Such high-level intelligence exchanges are historically significant, serving as a critical channel for communication between Washington and Moscow, particularly during periods of heightened geopolitical tension.

Addressing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Peskov claimed that the official leadership in Kyiv is facing setbacks on the front lines and that systemic governance issues are deepening. He further criticized European nations, describing their failure to acknowledge the realities on the ground in Ukraine as a serious strategic error.

Additionally, the Kremlin spokesperson commented on the situation in Armenia. Peskov acknowledged that complex internal political processes are currently underway in the country and expressed hope that the situation will be resolved in full accordance with Armenian legislation.
