Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its membership in the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation. I would like to thank all D-8 members for supporting this initiative,” said Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Hajiyev made these remarks on July 13 during the presentation of the D-8 Media Excellence Center's strategy, held within the framework of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
“Today, the Media Excellence Center has fully commenced its operations. We hope that D-8 countries will actively utilize the Media Excellence Center. This belongs to our D-8 media family,” Hajiyev noted.
The D-8 Organization, also known as Developing-8, is an organization for development cooperation among Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. Azerbaijan’s integration into this platform underscores the country's commitment to strengthening economic, political, and cultural ties with developing nations across the globe. The establishment of the Media Excellence Center serves as a strategic initiative to enhance information sharing and media collaboration among member states.
