Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has held a series of high-level telephone conversations with his counterparts from China, Syria, Qatar, and Uzbekistan to discuss the escalating regional tensions. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing TRT Haber, the discussions primarily focused on the latest developments in the Middle East and the urgent need for stability.
During the conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, both sides emphasized the importance of ending the ongoing conflict as soon as possible. The ministers evaluated the current efforts toward peace and highlighted the critical necessity of maintaining uninterrupted communication lines, energy supplies, and global supply chains. In separate calls, Hakan Fidan spoke with Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shibani, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov to coordinate diplomatic responses to the security challenges facing the region.
These diplomatic initiatives come at a time of heightened volatility in the Middle East, where Turkey continues to position itself as a key mediator. Turkey has consistently advocated for a multi-lateral approach to resolve regional conflicts, emphasizing territorial integrity and the protection of civilian infrastructure. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these discussions are part of a broader strategy by Ankara to prevent further escalation and ensure long-term regional security through active engagement with both regional and global powers.
