Azerbaijan is organizing the evacuation of approximately 200 citizens currently in Qatar through special flight arrangements, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ayxan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), told Operative Information Center-OMM that one regular flight from Dubai, UAE, is scheduled for today, with two additional flights planned for March 5. He noted that because Qatar's airspace is currently restricted, the government is coordinating the evacuation of citizens from Qatar via the territory of Saudi Arabia.
The evacuation efforts come amid shifting regional dynamics in the Middle East, requiring coordinated logistical support between Azerbaijani diplomatic missions and neighboring states. Azerbaijan frequently organizes such repatriation efforts to ensure the safety and return of its nationals during regional disruptions or emergency situations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant embassies continue to monitor the situation to provide necessary consular assistance to all citizens remaining in the region.
