Heavy rainfall in Istanbul has led to significant flooding, causing widespread disruption to transportation networks across the city. The downpour has resulted in severe traffic congestion and paralyzed public transit systems in several key areas.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited reports from "Haber Global," the adverse weather conditions have severely affected infrastructure in the metropolis.

Reports indicate that the districts of Beşiktaş, Fatih, Şişli, Bakırköy, Sultangazi, and Kağıthane were particularly hard-hit by thunderstorms and intense precipitation. The resulting accumulation of water on roadways and pedestrian crossings has created hazardous conditions for both drivers and pedestrians, significantly slowing movement throughout the city.

Istanbul, Turkey's most populous city and economic hub, frequently faces challenges with urban drainage systems during extreme weather events. The city's unique geography, spanning two continents and bordered by the Bosphorus, often exacerbates the impact of sudden, heavy rainfall on its dense urban infrastructure.
