At least nine people have been killed and 13 others wounded following Israeli airstrikes targeting the Nabatieh region in southern Lebanon. The strikes hit several residential areas, including the towns of Jibshit, Toul, and Harouf, causing extensive damage to civilian property.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, three people were killed and seven injured in an attack on a house in Jibshit. In the town of Toul, a strike on a residential building resulted in four fatalities and six injuries, while two additional deaths were reported following an aerial attack on a home in Harouf.

The reports indicate that these incidents occur despite a ceasefire agreement between the parties. The 10-day ceasefire, which originally came into force on April 17, had been extended until May 17. However, the Israeli military has reportedly continued to breach the agreement through daily aerial operations and the destruction of residential structures. In a separate development, Israeli forces intercepted the "Sumud" flotilla as it moved toward Gaza, resulting in the detention of 18 activists.

The Nabatieh Governorate is a strategically significant administrative region in southern Lebanon that has frequently become a focal point of cross-border tensions. The ongoing instability in the region continues to draw international concern regarding the humanitarian impact on civilian populations and the fragility of regional ceasefire agreements. Azerbaijan continues to monitor regional developments closely, maintaining its commitment to international law and the principles of regional stability.
