The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are conducting active ground operations in southern Lebanon to ensure regional security and neutralize immediate threats.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the military's press service, personnel from the 8th Brigade, operating under the 91st Division, are continuing targeted ground maneuvers. The primary objective of these operations is to strengthen the defensive line in southern Lebanon and guarantee the safety of residents in Israel's northern territories.

During the recent operations, Israeli servicemen discovered a rocket launcher aimed toward northern Israel. Additionally, anti-tank missile systems and various other weapon types used by the Hezbollah radical group for preparing strikes were identified and neutralized. These tactical movements come as the IDF seeks to dismantle infrastructure used for cross-border attacks.

The escalation on the ground coincides with intensified diplomatic efforts. On April 14, the first round of Lebanon-Israel contacts took place in Washington under the auspices of the United States. The main goal of this meeting, supported by US President Donald Trump's administration, was to determine a start date for formal peace negotiations aimed at reaching a sustainable ceasefire agreement. The conflict in the border region has remained a focal point of international concern, with mediators seeking to prevent further regional instability.
