Israeli forces carried out a series of strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon on March 31, intensifying the ongoing cross-border conflict.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Lebanese National News Agency, that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued warnings to residents in settlements south of the Zahrani River, urging them to evacuate their homes ahead of expanded military operations.
In response, Hezbollah announced that it had targeted an Israeli military checkpoint in the Misgav Am settlement and an air defense system in the Maalot-Tarshiha settlement along the Lebanon-Israel border. The IDF also confirmed that four Israeli soldiers were killed and two others were wounded during heavy fighting in southern Lebanon on March 30.
The conflict in the region has escalated significantly since early March, following a series of retaliatory strikes and ground operations. According to Lebanese authorities, the humanitarian impact has been severe, with reports indicating that Israeli strikes in Lebanon have resulted in over 124,700 casualties, including more than 120 children, approximately 80 women, and dozens of medical personnel. The ongoing hostilities remain a focal point of international concern as diplomatic efforts continue to seek a de-escalation of the violence in the Middle East.
