Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad is set to attend the BRICS energy summit, scheduled to take place on June 25-26 in Gurugram, India. The visit aims to strengthen international energy partnerships and explore new avenues for collaboration among member states.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, the two-day summit will focus on evaluating the achievements of BRICS nations in the field of sustainable energy, as well as discussing new initiatives and future cooperation prospects. During his visit, Minister Paknejad is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart to assess the potential for expanding cooperation in the oil and natural gas sectors. Furthermore, the Iranian official is expected to engage in discussions with energy ministers from other BRICS member countries to advance Tehran's strategic goal of deepening international energy ties.

The BRICS bloc, which currently encompasses 11 emerging economies including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, has significantly expanded its agenda in recent years. Beyond its foundational economic cooperation, the organization now addresses critical global issues such as energy security, climate change, financial stability, and food security. Iran's active participation in this summit underscores the country's ongoing efforts to integrate further into global energy markets and leverage multilateral platforms to enhance its economic and energy security.
