The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning regarding the transit of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to halt regional oil exports.

Brigadier General Ibrahim Jabari of the IRGC stated in an interview with Iranian state television that the strategic waterway is effectively closed to hostile interests, Operative Information Center-OMM reports. "The Strait of Hormuz is closed. The loyal heroes of the IRGC will set fire to any ship attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz," Jabari declared, adding that the IRGC "will not allow a single drop of oil to be exported from the region" under current tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz, situated between Oman and Iran, is the world's most important oil transit chokepoint. Approximately 20% of the global oil supply passes through this narrow waterway daily. It serves as the primary export route for petroleum from major producers including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Iraq, with the majority of these exports destined for Asian markets. Any disruption to traffic in the strait typically triggers significant volatility in global energy prices and impacts international maritime security.
