İranda internet kəsintisi 41 gündür davam edir

The near-total internet blackout in Iran has entered its 41st consecutive day, marking a historic disruption in the country's digital connectivity.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to NetBlocks, an international internet monitoring service, the disruption has now surpassed 984 hours. The organization has classified this as the longest nationwide internet shutdown ever recorded globally.

The digital blockade coincides with heightened regional political tensions and ongoing diplomatic maneuvers between Washington and Tehran. On April 7, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week mutual ceasefire with Iran, indicating that both parties were nearing an agreement on several critical issues. US President Donald Trump further noted that Washington has accepted a 10-point proposal submitted by Tehran as a "working basis" for future negotiations. These discussions reportedly cover the security of the Strait of Hormuz, uranium enrichment levels, the lifting of economic sanctions, and the withdrawal of military forces from the region.

In response, the Iranian leadership stated its readiness to suspend "defensive operations" provided the country is not subjected to external attacks. Amidst these developments, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stepped in as a mediator, inviting both delegations to Islamabad for formal talks. Such prolonged internet shutdowns are often utilized by authorities during periods of civil unrest or sensitive diplomatic transitions to control the flow of information and restrict domestic coordination.
