A high-level meeting was held in Iran to organize the Arbaeen pilgrimage and improve the services provided to pilgrims.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Alireza Rashidian, met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed the efficient organization of this year's pilgrimage programs and ways to enhance the quality of services for Iranian pilgrims.
Abbas Araghchi stated that close coordination between relevant government agencies is essential to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for pilgrims during the Arbaeen period. The minister noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is fully prepared to resolve potential issues faced by pilgrims and to provide necessary diplomatic and consular support.
Arbaeen is one of the largest religious observances in the world, marking the 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. Every year, millions of pilgrims travel to the city of Karbala in Iraq to participate in the commemorations.
To facilitate the organization of this pilgrimage, Iran and Iraq collaborate on various fronts, including the removal of visa restrictions, the improvement of transportation and public services, the strengthening of security measures at border crossings, and the expansion of medical and logistical support. According to reports, this year's Arbaeen pilgrimage will conclude with mass mourning ceremonies in Karbala on August 4.
