İran enerji infrastrukturuna hücuma qətiyyətli cavab verəcək

Iran's armed forces will deliver a decisive and comprehensive response to any attack by the United States or Israel against the country's energy infrastructure.

The statement was made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a telephone conversation with his French counterpart, Jean-Noel Barrot, according to reports from international media outlets. Araghchi emphasized that Tehran views such threats as a violation of international norms and a provocation that could lead to a wider escalation.

The press service of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted Araghchi on Telegram as saying:

“Such a threat is, in essence, an attempt to legitimize war crimes and genocide. If this is carried out, the Iranian armed forces will undoubtedly provide a decisive and comprehensive response.”

Araghchi further informed the French Foreign Minister that strikes on Iran's energy sector would have devastating consequences for the global economy. He stressed that the impact of such a situation would not be limited to Iran and the region but would cause significant disruptions to the global energy sector and international markets, for which the aggressors would bear full responsibility.

The exchange comes amid heightened regional tensions following recent military escalations in the Middle East. Iran, which holds some of the world's largest oil and natural gas reserves, plays a critical role in global energy security. Analysts suggest that any disruption to Iranian energy exports or infrastructure could lead to a sharp increase in global oil prices, impacting supply chains and economic stability worldwide. This diplomatic outreach to France appears to be part of Tehran's broader effort to engage European powers to exert pressure on Washington and Tel Aviv to avoid targeting strategic economic assets.
