İran: ABŞ ilə əldə olunan razılaşmada 60 günlük müddət yoxdur

Iran has officially clarified that the 60-day period mentioned in its recent agreement with the United States does not constitute an ultimatum. The statement comes amidst ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei addressed the details of the agreement during a weekly press conference. Baghaei emphasized that the document contains no specific clause mandating a "60-day deadline," asserting that Tehran does not formulate its state policy under external pressure, ultimatums, or arbitrary time constraints.

Baghaei explained that the 60-day timeframe referenced in the agreement was intended as a window for negotiations regarding the lifting of sanctions and the regulation of nuclear activities. However, the Iranian official alleged that the US violated the terms of the agreement shortly after its signing. Consequently, Tehran argues that because the process was not implemented as intended, the 60-day window is no longer relevant.

The diplomatic backdrop involves an agreement memorandum signed between Iran and the US on June 17 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Currently, Tehran continues to set specific conditions for the resumption of formal negotiations. The situation remains complex, as new economic restrictions imposed by the US on Iran and rising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to dominate the international agenda, highlighting the fragile nature of bilateral relations between Washington and Tehran.
