Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has addressed ongoing speculation regarding the future of center-back Alessandro Bastoni amid reported interest from Spanish giants Barcelona.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the Italian club has officially dismissed claims that the defender is set for a move to La Liga. Ausilio emphasized that the club has not received any formal inquiries and has no intention of entertaining offers for the player.
"Bastoni holds immense value for both Inter and Italy. He is an incredibly strong player, and we intend to keep him in the squad," the official stated.
The announcement follows a period of significant achievement for the Milan-based club. On Sunday, Inter Milan mathematically secured the Serie A title after a 2-0 victory over Parma in the 35th round of the season. As one of Italy's most successful football institutions, Inter Milan continues to prioritize squad stability to maintain its dominance in domestic football and its competitiveness in European tournaments. Bastoni, a key figure in the Nerazzurri's defensive line, remains central to the club's long-term sporting project.
