Inter Miami is in active negotiations to sign Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Manchester United, as the Florida-based club continues its strategy of recruiting world-class talent.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the MLS side plans to bring the experienced player into the squad as a free agent for the remainder of the 2026 MLS season. The 34-year-old Brazilian international is reportedly keen on the move, expressing interest in living in Miami and playing alongside Lionel Messi.

To facilitate the transfer, the club is currently navigating several technical details. Despite competition from clubs in Saudi Arabia, the Miami representative is working on a specific financial structure to align with MLS salary cap regulations. The club management hopes to secure Casemiro on a contract that would keep him in the team until 2028. Casemiro is expected to leave Manchester United as a free agent following the expiration of his contract in June 2026.

Inter Miami, co-owned by David Beckham, has become a focal point for international football stars since joining Major League Soccer in 2020. By targeting high-profile veterans like Casemiro, the club aims to strengthen its competitive edge in the league and expand its global commercial appeal. This move follows a trend of significant investments in the squad, which already features multiple former Barcelona stars, aimed at securing domestic and continental titles.
